Hi everyone, my name is AJ, I am the webmaster behind this site. I'm 24, a mother to 2 angels, ages 6 and 3 and a lifeline to a US Army Soldier. He is deployed and defending our freedom, currently overseas. I'm originally from Colorado however my head lays to rest at night in Oklahoma & has for the past 6 years. However,
I travel all over this state & Kansas to visit friends at nearby bases as often as I can.
I am also a 1st year college student, going for my associates in Web Design & Related Media, I attend the Art Institute. My hobbies outside of this site include video games, reading, movies & really get out of the house, and if I'm lucky, the chance to play in the mud with the boys! I love to learn new things and I will try almost anything once. I have been lucky enough to have the friends that I do who have serve in the military as well as many military veterans in my life. They have saved and/or impacted my life several times, and it has stuck with me over the years.
A Soldier's Lessons of his job saved my life...
In late 2007, I was in a car accident that involved a semi truck, at the time he was carrying gasoline, I was side swept while on the highway one afternoon, the only reason I (and my car) survived the crash was because I remembered that a Army MP by the name of Jim H. taught me. He was a traffic MP at one of my nearby Army Post/Base, he taught me about his job, as I helped them study to go before the board to get a promotion to SGT and to get my license in late 2005... And what I thought I would never use, I used that day and it helped to save my life. While I live today with rods in my back and some range motion loss and occasional issues in my left leg, I am here today alive and well (for the most part). I remain thankful to this solider as well as his fellow MP friend, cause they both taught me things through involving me in their lives and their jobs, and also for giving me a chance to be in their lives. This is only one of several occasions that the military has truly saved my life.
This is only one of the many stories that I have that explains why I have such a passion for this site, our troops and their families. They are part of the inspiration for the things that I do today. I would not be here or have custody of my children if I didn’t have the friends that I have had. I have learned a lot from them about responsibility and diligence in the things that one does.
Before I met my friends who serve starting back in 2004, I knew next to nothing about the military, but after being around it for the past 6 years I would not change one thing about the things I've seen and the people that I have met. Most military sites I have run across are for the military only or honor only the military & veterans, I don't think that is fair, I think that the families should be of honorable mention as well because no one can get through life alone. That no one is left forgotten, so that is what this site is for, everything military and to honor EVERYONE that serves, cause it's a whole other world when you live in a military family.
I hope you enjoy my site!
